Product claims: A gentle gel cleanser that foams to deeply cleanse your skin without disrupting your natural skin protective barrier. This cleanser is made with ceramides, niacinamide, and hyaluronic acid to replenish the skin’s moisture barrier. It will effectively remove excess oil, dirt, and makeup while being non-comedogenic, non-irritating, and non-drying. For normal to oily skin or acne prone skin.
Ingredients: Aqua, Cocamidopropyl Hydroxysultaine, Glycerin, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, PEG-150 Pentaerythrityl Tetrastearate, Niacinamide, PEG-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Ceramide NP, Ceramide AP, Ceramide EOP, Hyaluronic Acid, Cholesterol, Phytosphingosine, Citric Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Disodium EDTA, Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Carbomer, Xanthan Gum (Note: this is the Canadian version which may have some differences from the American version)
Fragrance: It has no scent or added fragrance.
Texture and application: This product is a light gel that foams/lathers up nicely. It feels like it glides easily across your skin as you wash your face. It also rinses off easily without making your skin feel sticky or tight and without leaving any residue.
Packaging: The packaging is fairly straight forward. It comes in a huge container (seriously, this lasts for ages!) with a pump at the top.
Performance: This is a pretty good cleanser. It made my skin feel clean and soft, and it was not drying at all, even on my combo skin. It can wash off regular makeup and sunscreen, but if you are using waterproof products, then the CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser might not be enough on its own to thoroughly cleanse your face.
- Cleanses well
- Gentle, non-drying, non-irritating
- Rinses off easily
- Nice lather
- Huge bottle lasts forever
- Might not completely remove waterproof makeup
Final thoughts: I give this cleanser 5/5. It’s a straight forward, no frills cleanser that does the job. My skin feels soft and clean without feeling dried out; this is pretty much all I want in a cleanser. Also, I usually double cleanse by using Kose Softymo Deep Cleansing Oil and following up with CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser, so I’m fine with this product not being able to completely remove waterproof makeup or sunscreen (and realistically, I don’t expect any second cleanser to perfectly wash off waterproof products while still being gentle and non-drying at the same time).
My skin: Combo, oily t-zone and dry everywhere else, clog prone, acne prone on my chin
